The philosophy of our musical work has always been to introduce the child to music in a lively and participative manner, also promoting projects and expressions which revolve around a common objective for all of our centre’s groups: Initiation Workshop, School and Conservatory.
The result of all of this is intense work throughout the academic year which includes concerts, auditions, performances and recordings.
The auditions fulfil two objectives: on the one hand they offer the student the possibility of playing before the public right from the beginning of their musical training, encouraging a natural relationship with it. This is fundamental given that the necessary personal work has no other purpose than the subsequent performance and, in short, communication, which is inherent to music.
But equally important is the perspective of the “listening student” who, by listening to their colleagues, progressively develops different skills: auditory, respect, critique, etc. Every academic year there are various types of auditions on our calendar.
The concert work is developed throughout the course and on various stages. The Christmas season is now traditional for the Jesús Guridi Orchestra as are the concerts by graduates in which said orchestra accompanies soloist students from the last year of the post-secondary training.
The Teatro Arriaga, Teatro Ayala and Coliseo Albia theatres in Bilbao and the auditoriums of Cuenca and Soria have staged our opera productions which have brought together all of the elements of the Choral Society.
To this musical activity we have to add the recording of records and the singing, piano and chamber music recitals.
