The coincidence in time of the Society’s silver wedding and the hiring of the young Jesús Guridi as the leader of the choir gave birth to a new stage, of a very different character. The Choral will leave aside contests in order to dedicate its efforts to fostering the creation of a Basque Lyrical Theatre.
Thus, during these two decades, several operas and zarzuelas, written by different authors by express assignment from the Choral, will hold their premiere. Some of such titles are: "Maitena", by Colín; "Mendi Mendiyan", by Usandizaga; "Lide ta Ixidor", by Inchausti, "Mirentxu", by Guridi; "Deboika", by Power; "Itxasondo", by Inchausti and "Amaya", by Guridi. The Choral performed its productions in Bilbao, Madrid and Barcelona, repeating success after success.
