The youth group of the Choir of Bilbao begins a new era with the appointment of Urko Sangroniz as its new conductor, upholding its philosophy of acting as the intermediate stage between the Choir of the Conservatory (children's choir) and the adult choir (the actual Choir itself).
The choir was founded in 1985 with Juan Luis Vázquez assuming the role of conductor for ten years. He was replaced by Iñaki Moreno, who held the post until the year 2007, when he was appointed conductor of the Choir of Bilbao.

The choir's intense activity includes tours around North Germany in 1993 and 1996, with concerts in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Schwerin. It also gave concerts in various locations in the Anjou region in France in 1994, 1996 and 1998, together with the Jesús Guridi Orchestra of the Conservatory of the Choir of Bilbao. Special mention must be made of the concert given in the Church of the Spanish Mission in Paris, which marked the culmination of the last tour. In 1999, it took part in the Sacred Music Festival of the Isle of Re, also in France.
In Spain, it has given various concerts in the National Auditorium of Madrid, the Cervantes Theatre of Málaga, the Grand Theatre of Cordoba, the Lope de Vega in Seville and the Romea in Murcia, as well as different stages in Cartagena, Lorca, Burgos, Cantabria, La Rioja, Getafe and Albacete.
It has also taken part in various Spanish operettas in the Arriaga Theatre.
