The Choir of Bilbao received the Medal of Honour 2005 from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. The medal is awarded to the Spanish or foreign individual or institution that has stood out in the study, promotion or diffusion of the arts, in artistic creation or in the protection of the historical, natural and cultural heritage, as laid down in the academy's articles of association.
In 2007, the Choir of Bilbao received the Gold Medal of the City, awarded by the City Hall of Bilbao. This distinction recognizes and rewards individuals and institutions for their work in the city's development.
